RESEARCH TEAM  

Dr Jasper Vincent Alontaga is an Associate Professor of the Education Leadership and Management Department at the De La Salle University-Manila, Philippines. His work centers on the ways in which educational technology can be made more accessible for all types of learners both in face-to-face and online learning environments. He has a Doctor of Philosophy in Special Education from University of the Philippines - Diliman. He has served as a member of the  UNESCO Bangkok Resource Distribution and Training Centre (RDTC) - Philippines University Network, and as a resource speaker for various educational technology topics. He is currently the Director of the Academic Support for Instructional Services and Technology (ASIST) office in the university in charge of (1) competency training of the faculty in Blended Learning, and (2) technical assistance in design, development and delivery of online courses in AnimoSpace Canvas LMS.

Dr Myla M. Arcinas is an Associate Professor and the current chair of the Behavioral Sciences Department, De La Salle University-Manila, Philippines.  She has a PhD in Sociology, with specialization on Population, Health, and Family Studies, and for years she has been in numerous consultancy works in areas such as women empowerment and community development; children, youth and family studies; migration studies; organizational development and human resource development; evaluative and impact assessment studies; information and communication technology (ICT) and e-learning in different local and international. She is the current president of Pi Gamma Mu Beta Chapter,  Board member of the Philippine Sociological Society, and also a member of various local and international professional organizations such as the International Sociological Association (ISA), International Association of Community Development (IACD), Association for Women's Rights in Development, and the Philippine Population Association (PPA).

Dr Rochelle Irene G. Lucas is an Associate Professor at the Department of English and Applied Linguistics at De La Salle University. She was the former Vice Dean of Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC College of Education from 2008 to 2015. Her research projects include the Hanunoo Mangyan language documentation and preservation funded by the National Research Council of the Philippines and the DLSU Challenge Grant Program on e-Learning Outreach Program and the Learning Network PH. She has completed her Bachelor in Secondary Education major in English (cum laude) and Master of Arts in Literature (magna cum laude) at the University of Santo Tomas. She has a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Linguistics degree from De La Salle University. She has published, presented and conducted research on psycholinguistics, bilingualism, language learning in children, motivation, alternative assessment and discourse analysis. She has completed a competitive leadership training program called the International Deans' Course under the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) in 2010-2011. Currently, she is the Immediate Past President of the Linguistics Society of the Philippines (LSP) and the Secretary of the Comparative Education Society of the Philippines (CESP). She is also a member of the Pi Lambda Theta an International Honor Society and Professional Association in Education (Philippines Area Chapter). She has served as the Philippine secretariat of the Resource Distribution and Training Centre (RDTC) UNESCO Bangkok.

Dr Rhoderick V. Nuncio is a Research Fellow and a Full Professor of Philippine Studies at De La Salle University. He is currently the chair of the Departamento ng Filipino of the College of Liberal Arts. He has published works on ICT for education and development, new media & popular culture, Filipino theory, literary criticism and philosophy. He has done several projects and advocacy programs on ICT for education and development. He handles TechnoTeach courses in his department’s graduate program.  He spearheaded two Challenge Grants projects in DLSU, one on piloting an e-learning outreach program in public schools and the other on building a learning network for teachers. At SDRC, he was the project director of the Philippine Kids Online (PKOLS), which was funded by UNICEF Philippines and AusAid. He was a graduate fellow of the Sephis South-South Exchange Programme’s Cultural Studies Workshop in 2004 in Bangalore, India; a Visiting Researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University in 2014; a recipient of the Sumitomo Foundation Grant on Japan-Related Research Project in 2015-2017 and a writing fellow at the 54th UP National Writers Workshop in 2015. He completed his MA and PhD in Philippine Studies at the University of the Philippines-Diliman and his AB Philosophy and Human Resource Development at San Beda College. He is also an artist and novelist.
